What Rico’s does

Twelve kinds of roofing work, all of them common on San Antonio houses. If you are not sure which one fits, describe the problem on the phone and we will tell you.

After the storm

Hail and wind are the reason for most of our calls. Hail damage is easy to miss from the ground and easy to overstate from a door-knocker’s ladder, so we photograph it carefully and tell you plainly whether it is worth a claim. Wind damage, such as lifted tabs, torn ridge caps or a limb through the decking, gets a temporary cover first and a proper repair once materials are in.

Where the water gets in

On an otherwise sound roof, leaks almost always start at an opening: a skylight curb, chimney flashing, a cracked pipe boot or a valley clogged with live oak leaves. Summer heat dries these out year after year. Repairing the opening properly is usually a much smaller job than people expect.

When it is time for a new roof

Shingle roofs that have taken repeated hail or two decades of sun, tile roofs whose underlayment has given out, and flat sections that pond after every rain are candidates for replacement. We lay out materials side by side, including impact-rated shingles and standing-seam metal, along with the ventilation the attic needs.

What we do

Every service

Each page covers the warning signs, how the job is done and the materials we use.

How it works

How a Rico’s job runs

  1. 1

    Call or text

Give us the address and what you have seen: a stain, missing shingles, granules in the gutter, dents on the vents.

  2. 2

    Roof walk & photos

We inspect the roof and attic and send dated photos with notes.

  3. 3

    Written options

Repair or replacement, materials, colour choices and any permit or HOA approval, in writing.

  4. 4

    Work & clean-up

The work is done, inspected where the city requires it, and the yard is swept for nails.
