About Rico’s
Roofing for San Antonio weather
Rico’s Roofing LLC works across San Antonio and the towns around it, on everything from a single leaking skylight to a full tear-off after a hailstorm.
What the weather does here
Most roof damage in this part of Texas comes in two forms. The sudden kind arrives with spring storms: hail that bruises shingles and cracks tile, and wind that peels back ridge caps and tabs. The slow kind comes from summer, when months of heat and sun dry out the sealant, rubber boots and flashing that keep water out at every opening in the roof. The slow damage is often what turns a storm into a leak.
Because of that, we look at more than the obvious. On a hail call we also check the skylights, pipe boots and chimney flashing; on a leak call we check whether hail has already shortened the life of the rest of the roof.
How we work
- You get dated photos and a written note from every inspection
- Proposals spell out materials, ventilation and any permit or HOA approval needed
- Tile is lifted and reset by people who know how to walk it
- Yards and driveways are protected and swept for nails at the end of each day
Licensing and insurance in Texas
Texas does not license roofing contractors at the state level, which means anyone can call themselves a roofer, especially in the weeks after a big storm. Ask any contractor, including us, for proof of insurance, a written proposal and a local phone number you can reach after the job. Permits are handled through the City of San Antonio or whichever suburban city you live in.
HOAs and historic districts
Many north-side neighbourhoods require approval for roof material and colour, and historic districts such as King William have their own review. We help gather the product details those boards ask for before work is scheduled.
After the job
When the work is finished we send closing photos of the flashing, vents and ridge so you have a record of what went on the house. That record is useful if you sell, refinance, or file a claim after the next storm.
Why Rico’s Roofing
What you get when you call Rico’s
Hail know-how
We know what hail bruising looks like on shingles, tile and metal, and photograph it the way adjusters need to see it.
Photos, not guesses
Each inspection ends with dated pictures of the problem and a written note of what we recommend.
Tile done carefully
Clay and concrete tile is lifted, stacked and reset, so a repair does not leave more broken tile behind.
Openings sealed right
Skylights, chimneys, vents and pipe boots are where heat-dried roofs leak, so we rebuild them properly.
HOA-ready proposals
Material, colour and product sheets are listed so architectural committees can sign off quickly.
Booked before storm season
Spring is busy. Inspect in winter and the small repairs are done before hail season starts.
