Useful to mention when you call
- The roof material: shingle, clay or concrete tile, metal, or a flat section, and about how old it is.
- When it started: after a particular storm, or slowly over the summer.
- Where water appears: a ceiling stain, around a skylight, beside the chimney, or in the garage.
- Insurance: whether you have opened a claim, and the claim number if you have one.
- Access: locked gates, dogs, and whether there is a two-storey wall to reach.
What we look at
The field of the roof, ridges and hips, valleys, every pipe boot and vent, skylight curbs, chimney flashing, gutters and, where we can get in, the attic. Hail bruising and slow leaks often show up first underneath, as stained decking or damp insulation. You get dated photos and plain notes, then a written proposal if anything needs doing.
Spring storm season
Most of our hail calls come between March and June. When a storm crosses the north side, dozens of streets are hit at once, so the earlier you call, the sooner you are on the schedule. If water is coming in, tell us and we will prioritise a temporary cover.
If you are filing a claim
Photograph damage from the ground before anything is moved, keep receipts for emergency work, and avoid signing anything with a crew that knocks on the door. Our inspection report is laid out so an adjuster can follow it photo by photo.
HOA neighbourhoods
If you live in The Dominion, Stone Oak, Encino Park or another deed-restricted area, mention it. We will include the product names and colours your architectural committee asks for with the proposal.
Commercial and flat roofs
For shops, offices and small warehouses, tell us roughly how big the roof is, what it is covered with and how we get up. We can work around opening hours and write reports for owners and property managers.
After we visit
Photos and notes usually reach you within a day or two, followed by a written proposal if work is needed. Nothing is booked until you say so, and we are happy to go through the options on the phone first.
Where we go
San Antonio and nearby cities in Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe and Kendall counties. Every area on the service areas page has notes on its homes and roofs.
